We know that some fast loan apps are not just worth it, even when they may be heavily regulated in Nigeria. So, in this review, we will be looking at Urgent10k. You probably came across their ad or a recommendation online. But here’s the thing; Urgent10k loan app is legit but not perfect.
Urgent10k is legit because it is fully approved by the FCCPC (Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission) under UGT Technologies Limited. As the name of this app implies, their typical loan benchmark is 10,000 and other smaller amounts. They sometimes even ridiculously give 500 naira loans to borrowers. There are just a few more to note about this app, and this review covers most of it.
Urgent10k Loan App Review: is it Legit?
The first impression you’ll get about Urgent10k is that this app is a total waste of time and data. But is this really the case? To an extent, yes. Otherwise, this app does what it promises—give small loans to people.
One thing you have to give it up for Urgent10k is that they actually respond to reviews, including the negative ones. We’ve reviewed a lot of loan apps in Nigeria, and many of them have a tradition of ignoring complaints. This one is a bit different but not 100%.
User reviews about about Urgent10k are generally not good but this lender is not terrible. So, if you are going to obtain a loan here, you should lower your expectations.
Now, the major problem with Urgent10k is too much personal information is required even for loans as little as 5,000 naira. Of course, the explanation will always be that “it’s to prevent fraud”. Plausible, if you ask.
It’s also ridiculous how you’ll request a loan, and Urgent10k will give you only 500 naira as your eligible amount. This happens to a good deal of borrowers. So, if Urgent10k qualifies you only for 500 naira, don’t be surprised.
How Does Urgent10k Loan App Work?
At least, if there’s something Urgent10k does, it’s giving small loans. A lot of times, you’ll obtain the loan faster if your credit history looks promising. If you don’t have a good one, then getting a loan here can be extremely frustrating.
How this loan app works is simple, and similar to most local loan apps in Nigeria. But most importantly, you have to be more than 21 years old with a regularly paying job.
Urgent10k lists a monthly interest rate of 3%, which adds up to an annual rate (APR) of 36%. Well, this isn’t the case, especially with smaller 7-day loans. Most of the time, the interest rate can be somewhere around 10% or higher.
For example, if you borrow 10,000 naira, for 60 days at a monthly interest rate of 2.86%, you’ll pay back 572 naira in interest. So, you’ll return N10,572 in total after 2 months. This is just an example and not the actual rate.
How to Use Urgent10k App
- Download Urgent10k from the Apple or Google app store.
- Create an account with your personal information, including your BVN. You’ll also be required to take a picture of your face.
- Request for a loan.
- If this loan request is approved, Urgent10k will credit the amount to you.
It’ll be a mistake if you have high expectations. That’s because Urgent10k is not perfect. In the end, you may or may not qualify for a loan. Sometimes, the amount of loan you qualify for will be smaller than you actually need.
