We have games that take your money as you play. For example, those familiar with Call of Duty Mobile know that you optionally spend for skin upgrades and so on. However, we also have local Nigerian games that pay you real money as you play. But you have to invest some money to win back double, triple, or as much as your luck allows.
I have installed three game apps, played, and earned from them. These are the best in the app store right now, even though they are sometimes not fair to us players.
I have played around with all the games mentioned in this review. They are good in some ways but also very annoying in some aspects. Don’t worry, I’ve covered every major piece of information you need to know about each of the apps, including their pros and cons.
Game Apps That Pay You Real Money in Nigeria
Let’s get in…
1. Waje Game
In one of my articles, I talked about Waje explicitly, so you can look it up here. This game app is owned by Fortune House Limited Company. It’s a licensed app with a valid Casino Gaming Permit from the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Nigeria.
There are some Nigerian-based games you can play on Waje, including Whot, Ludo and other fun games. These are local to us, and you could have had experience with one or all of them at some point in your life. Do note that Waje Game is a real-money gambling app.
But this app has some flaws I’m going to point out, with the major problem being that it sometimes feels manipulative, i.e., very difficult to get big wins, especially in the casino section. This game is not completely free, and you can only play after you deposit money in your wallet.
I played Whot the most. My problem with it is that it does not allow the player to decide if they want to play a card. In my case, once I have a card I want to keep for later use, the game will play the card without my consent.
The game design is really nice but it is rigged against us the players. Also, you have to play 1,000 games to redeem a 1,000 bonus. The developers should also adjust this game so that someone can use bonuses to play and add it to their deposit.
You may also face withdrawal problems like I have at some point. It’s very easy to deposit money on this app, but withdrawal is a hit or miss.
Also, the spin feature hardly ever wins something good. Many times, you are winning 20 naira—ridiculous.
But hey, as a player, only stake what you can afford to lose. But also, this app won’t let you pick your stake; they determine it based on your money.
One big problem I have faced with Waje is that you can’t choose either 1 v 1 or 4 players. This can make you lose quickly. Hopefully, Waje will consider this in the future, and give players the liberty to control how they want to play.
As for fees, Waje takes 10% from a winner, and another 3% or more from every withdrawal you make. An example is that if you bet 100 naira with 4 participants and win, you will be paid 360 naira instead of 400 naira.
You are going to encounter bots (computer-programmed opponents) you almost can’t beat—it’s just how it’s set up so the developers earn more from you. Nevertheless, it’s a very addictive app that pays real money for you to digitally enjoy some of our local games.
2. Ludo Dice Cash Games MPL Naija
The second game app that pays real money is Ludo MPL Naija. I included this app due to its owner, Carry1st reputation in Africa. However, it seems that this game app has not reached its best yet.
The MPL stands for (Mobile Premier League). In terms of legit, give it to Carry1st. This company has a very good reputation online, and they have several other apps such as Ludo Blitz, Mancala Adventures, etc. I got to know Carry1st through Call of Duty Mobile (CODM). They are a CODM partner for those who want to buy CPs without using the CODM app directly. It is also available in other African countries such as South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, etc.
Games you will find in this app include Whot, Snake and Ladder, Ludo Dice and Ludo 2 Dice. Unlike Waje Game, Ludo Dice doesn’t have a large player base currently.
And of course, it’s a game that pays but also has its own flaws, which I will talk about. Ps. You won’t earn as much as you would on Waje.
One problem I have with this app is that at first, you’ll enjoy the game but the more you keep winning, the harder is gets. It sometimes feels like Carry1st is setting a player up to lose.
Also, you can only play free or spin and play with 1 naira. The withdrawal also gives a bit of a headache. The maximum amount you can withdraw is 100 naira. To withdraw more than this amount, you have to download the pro version. But honestly, this app is good, and the graphics too.
One thing I’ve noticed about Carry1st MPL app reviews is that many of them are fake, generic reviews (generated with ChatGPT) from people who have never used the app. Hopefully, Carry1st is not indulging in such an act to gain more ratings.
3. Ludo Naira
The third app I have for you is Ludo Naira. You can play and win with this game in Nigeria. If Ludo is your strength, and you need a game app that pays real money and focuses on Ludo, then install Ludo Naira. However, unlike Waje Game, Ludo Naira does not have a permit from the National Lottery Regulatory Commission.
The gameplay is okay. Ludo Naira has server issues. While playing the game, you might be frustrated due to their weak servers. Some players think it’s their network, but NO. Ludo Naira’s servers are slow. They need better servers to accommodate more players.
Of all three apps, Ludo Naira is the one you won’t face withdrawal issues. They credit almost immediately, and you can deposit above 200 naira as well as withdraw above 200 naira. Be careful though, because this game is also rigged to make you lose more than you win—bring in your best skill if you want to win more and lose less.
If you are a bad player, you could play a hundred times and only win 10 games due to getting lower moves.
The may roll a die in your opponent’s favor ALWAYS! Die is the singular form of ‘dice’, so don’t be confused that I’m using ‘die’.
While I had this game app installed, I played in a tournament and finished first position. However, after the Ludo tournament, Ludo Naira rewarded less than was promised.
Ps. Dont think you can get free money here! This game app is programmed for bots to win more often than you. But of course, Ludo Naira is legit and allows you to withdraw your winnings fast.
Just Be Careful of Scams
Right now, there are loads of game apps out there promising easy money, but many of them are pure scams. So, be cautious to avoid losing money to apps that won’t pay you real money. When I say real money, I mean apps that actually send the money to your bank account like the ones I’ve mentioned. Not those ones that only show your winning amount on the dashboard, but can’t be withdrawn.
Indeed, some apps pay real money as you can see. Make sure you know how to play whatever game you choose. Make sure you deposit only an amount you can afford to lose!
